So here we go…
ON is a new service that is designed to make a real difference to the way we stay in touch with the people who matter, via our mobile phone. Unique to ON is that we recognize how each of us is many things to many people: I’m a father, son, ex-boyfriend, husband, boss, best-mate, failed pianist, cat owner, food-lover — something that is fundamental when you start bringing all your contacts together and “socializing” them. So we have built the entire service around this.
We are currently in Private Beta. We will be expanding the private beta by mid-December. We will move into public Beta once our users tell us we are ready.
This means that while we build up our confidence we are only letting a few hundred or so people explore our service and take it to bits. We hope to be in a better position mid-December, and gradually start letting more and more people in.
If you are reading this, it means you are probably one of our testers. We really hope that you will enjoy the experience, see the promise, and point us in the right direction when we have got it wrong.
Initially this blog will be used as a place to keep our beta users informed of what is going on. As we mature, we hope it will become a reference place for debates around the issues, among others, of privacy, geo-tagging, sharing and other new forms of communication.
